Hallo zusammen,
Gruß an alle ![]()
Meine Erfahrung vor Ort:
- viel bessere Orga als erwartet
- sehr nette & gastfreundliche Menschen
- Wetter zumindest in meinen Spielorten (Durban, Joburg & Pretoria) tagsüber gut.
Fazit: Ein wirklich wunderbarer Trip!
A year ago, they played in mostly-empty stadiums. Plastic chairs were their audience, the sports journalists their companions.
Last night, that all changed when 90 000 fans packed out Soccer City to cheer Bafana Bafana on to a 2-1 victory.
Fans in yellow and green, waving flags and trumpeting vuvuzelas, screamed their team to victory.
There was chaos, endless queues and even some bribes, but overwhelming enthusiasm at Soccer City for the friendly match.
It started with the traffic jam from hell as tens of thousands of soccer fanatics struggled to get into the massive stadium before the 8.30pm kick-off, but instead of rage, most met the chaos with deafening vuvuzelas and cheerfulness.
Queues to get in were endless.
About 90 000 soccer fans sat stuck in happy traffic, hooting amid excited conversation as they crawled towards the stadium.
People jumped out of their cars to run past waving flags and shrill vuvuzelas.
Closer to the stadium, the highway was transformed into an impromptu parking lot, with people abandoning their cars on the side of the road and running to the stadium. Parking outside the stadium cost from R20 to R30.
The pedestrian bridge to the stadium was packed with fans determined to get to the game.
By kick-off time, a teeming mass of supporters in green and yellow were still swarming into the stadium. Mounted metro police officers waited outside as thousands of fans crowded the gates.
Police officers manned the entry gates, letting a slow stream of supporters through.
"You must look here, it's so disorganised," shouted a disgruntled fan. "This is chaos, chaos," muttered another.
Mounted cops moved in to shunt part of the growing crowd to another entrance. Thousands of fans were still pouring over the bridge walkway half an hour after kick-off. Inside the stadium, fans erupted after a Bafana Bafana goal 16 minutes into the game.
Some said it took an hour after parking to get to their seats.
Men checking tickets took whole tickets away from their owners and accepted bribes from people who were late for the match and trying to get seated faster.
Seating was chaotic. People sat anywhere instead of in the seating sections specified on their tickets because officials didn't check where people were going. Many had to stand because their seats were taken.
A woman on crutches had to walk a long way to get to her seat, and, as the lift was out of order, she had to walk up a ramp instead.
The stadium was nearly full, but the VIP seats were empty.
There was no soap or toilet paper in the women's toilets.
But once inside, despite the cold, the atmosphere was great, with the stadium buzzing with sound and excitement.
A single Mexican wave sped around the stadium four times, and spontaneous renditions of Shosholoza broke out.
One fan waved a sign hand-written on a piece of torn cardboard: "Soccer City rocks".
And when the home team won, the crowd went crazy.
Foreign fans have complained about the noise of vuvuzelas, but Fifa president Sepp Blatter has said they were as characteristic of South African football as bongo drums or singing in other countries, and would not be banned.
World Cup local organising chief Danny Jordaan said noise levels would be checked during last night's game, when the levels were likely to reach their peak.
"For example, if there is an order to evacuate the stadium and an announcement is made, you have to ask yourself: will everyone in the stadium hear the evacuation order?" he said. Jordaan defended vuvuzelas as "instruments of joy and celebration".
Bafana Bafana's Brazilian coach, Carlos Alberto Parreira, said the team should take advantage of the din. We want it louder and louder."
However, it had been made clear that the first vuvuzela to be thrown onto the pitch or any use of the musical instrument as a weapon would result in its immediate banning from stadiums. - Additional reporting by Sapa and Reuters

P.S.: Sehe gerade Deinen Terminplan. ![]()
Terminplan entschlacken bei insgesamt (lt. Signatur) 4 Spielen find ich gut!

Biete 2 x #12 Neuseeland - Slowakei Kat. 2
