nene, das ist schon sinnvoll...klar, holst du damit nicht jeden ab weil kein internet oder was weiß ich...aber es ist bestimmt unbürokratischer als eine einladung per post

Ich war neulich in Schengen, da hätte ich ja auch einmal die Bevölkerung zu ihrer Meinung bezüglich der weiteren Entwicklung der Zusammenarbeit im Rahmen des Schengener Abkommens fragen können.

Genausosehr wie um die Einwohner der Hauptstadt Frankreichs. Nämlich gar nicht, ausser in dem Sinn, dass wir alle (auch Paris H. und die Pariser) vom Klimawandel betroffen sind.
Edit: geht ja um Ted Cruz, vielleicht sollte er sich mal in Paris, Texas umschauen. Gibt immer mal wieder Tornados dort.

Dass die Leute Verbrecher sind ist ja klar, sonst bräuchten sie auch kein Pardon. Ich denke, bei vielen auf der Liste kann man die Begnadigung durchaus nachvollziehen.Das Problem sind die Leute, die mit ihm eng (persönlich oder politisch) verknüpft sind.

Noch ein Beispiel für puren Zynismus: Trump hatte 2016 per Dekret früheren WH-Mitarbeitern verboten, als Lobbyisten tätig zu werden. Jetzt hat er noch schnell ein Dekret aufgesetzt, dass das für die WH-Mitarbeiter 2016-20 nicht gelte.

Na ja, Trottel ist da vielleicht die falsche Kategorie. Die Fischereirechte waren die letzte Hürde vor dem Last-Minute Brexit Deal. Da hat BoJo dann eben mal die Forderungen der Industrie unter den Bus geworfen, um den Deal möglich zu machen. Es war zu erwarten, dass die Industrie dagegen protestiert. Ist alles eine zeimlich verzwickte Kiste.

Trump wird morgen früh um 8h DC time auf der Edwards Air Base von eingeladenen Gästen (keine Bewaffnung erwünscht) verabschiedet und fliegt dann in der Air Force One nach Florida. Um 12h ist er dann offiziell aus dem Amt. Er wollte wohl eine Verabschiedung mit militärischen Ehren, das Militär hatte anscheinend aber keine Lust darauf.
Ob er die Air Force One sauber hinterlässt?

Ich bin echt gespannt, ob das nächste Woche alles ohne grossen Knall abläuft.
Was das FBI alles so auf den sozialen Medien abgreift, scheint ja nicht ohne zu sein. Man spricht wohl für nächsten Mittwoch über Pläne für 4.000 bewaffnete Radikale, in DC einzufallen, und von Angriffen auf die 50 Kapitole der einzelnen Staaten. FBI, National Guard und lokale Polizeieinheiten werden wohl alle Hände voll zu tun haben.
Ich denke, dass die knapp verhinderte Erführung der Gouverneurin von Michigan und der Sturm auf das Kapitol (inklusive Aufstellung eines Galgens für den Vizepräsidenten) nur die sichtbarsten Auswüchse des Terrors waren.

Ich war damals längere Zeit vor Ort gewesen, bin aber im ersten regulären Lufthansa-Flieger von Rio nach Frankfurt geflogen, am Abend nach dem Finale. LH 501. War nicht der gleiche Flieger, oder?
Fast hätte ich den Flieger verpasst, da alle Taxifahrer in Rio besoffen waren und keiner zum Flughafen fahren wollte. Der Nachbar der Herberge in der Facela hat uns dann für einen Taxipreis nach Galeao gebracht.

Some big banks are pausing all political donations — to those who voted to uphold the election as well as to those who sought to overturn it — a tactic that is raising eyebrows. Goldman Sachs is freezing donations through its PAC and will conduct “a thorough assessment of how people acted during this period,” a spokesman, Jake Siewert, told DealBook.
JPMorgan Chase is halting donations through its PAC for six months. “There will be plenty of time for campaigning later,” said Peter Scher, the bank’s head of corporate responsibility.
And Citigroup is postponing all campaign contributions for a quarter. “We want you to be assured that we will not support candidates who do not respect the rule of law,” Candi Wolff, the bank’s head of government affairs, wrote in an internal memo.
Facebook will pause all of its contributions to political action committees representing either party for at least the remainder of the first quarter of 2021, the company confirmed in a statement on Monday, citing the need to review its policies. A spokesman for Microsoft confirmed that it would do the same.
Other companies, including Bank of America, FedEx and Wells Fargo, said they would review their corporate contribution strategy.
The suspensions coincide with the first quarter after a presidential election, which is typically light on fund-raising anyway. And companies can still give to “dark money” groups that don’t disclose their donors but often raise far more money than corporate PACs.
In other fallout, the P.G.A. of America said it would no longer hold its signature championship at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.; the social app Parler, popular among conservatives as an alternative to Twitter, went dark this morning after Amazon cut it off from computing services; the payment processor Stripe banned the Trump campaign from using its services; YouTube blocked Steve Bannon’s podcast channel; and the debate continues over tech giants’ influence over public speech.
