After visit with Bengals, Alexanders' next stop is New Orleans
NFL.com Wire Reports
After wrapping up his visit with the Bengals on Monday, free-agent running back Shaun Alexander is scheduled to visit the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting.
Alexander was released by the Seahawks in April, just 26 months after the running back signed a $62 million contract as the franchise's cornerstone. The move came after Seattle signed free-agent running backs T.J. Duckett and Julius Jones in the offseason.
"I will be playing for another NFL team this fall, and doing everything I can to contribute," said Alexander, who ran for just 716 yards in 13 games last season -- his lowest total since he replaced Ricky Watters as Seattle's lead back in 2001.
"I am healthy, energized and looking forward to beginning the next chapter of my NFL career," he said. -

Saints-Bolts matchup in London sells 40,000 tickets in 90 minutes
NFL.com
LONDON -- It took just 90 minutes on Thursday to sell 40,000 tickets made available for the NFL's second overseas regular-season game.
The San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints will play on October 26 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
The tickets were available to fans who were randomly selected from an overwhelming number of registered ticket requests.Richard Heathcote / Getty ImagesThe Dolphins and Giants played the first-ever regular-season game outside North America in 2007.
"We are delighted to report the overwhelming interest in this year's game," said Alistar Kirkwood, managing director of NFL UK. "Today's sales at Ticketmaster have matched the pace at which tickets were bought for last year's game between the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants, which was historic in being the first-ever regular-season game outside North America. This proves that our event is one of the most eagerly awaited on the British sports calendar."
Because of the demand for tickets, the NFL released an additional 5,000 tickets that went on sale immediately. There also has been an increase in the number of tickets that will be offered in the second sale of tickets to fans who registered in February when the game was announced.
Last year's Wembley game was such a success that the NFL has committed to playing at least one game in the UK for each of the next three seasons, beginning with this year's matchup of teams who have each come within one game of reaching the Super Bowl in the past two seasons.
The Chargers are led by running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who set an NFL record by scoring 31 touchdowns in 2006 and was also named the league's MVP that season.
The Saints feature one of the most exciting players in the NFL in running back Reggie Bush, who appeared alongside English soccer star David Beckham in a series of TV commercials following the former England captain's move to America.
Both Tomlinson and Bush are scheduled to make a promotional visit to London next month. -

Owens and the Cowboys have agreed to terms on a three-year, $27 million extension, reports NFL Network's Adam Schefter.
The Cowboys will hold a press conference on Tuesday, which will be broadcast live on the NFL Network beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
The extension keeps Owens in Dallas through the 2011 season. The deal includes a $12.9 million signing bonus and a $100,000 base salary guarantee. Owens is slated to make $19.5 million over the next two years, $27 million over the next three years and $34 million over the four years he now has left on his contract.
Owens, 34, was set to enter this season in the final year of a three-year, $25 million contract he signed with Dallas in March of 2005. Owens has led the Cowboys in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns in each of his two seasons in Dallas, while also leading the NFL with 28 touchdown receptions during that span.
The extension for Owens is the latest in a series of long-term deals reached with key starters. The Cowboys spent roughly $95 million on one day, signing running back Marion Barber to a seven-year, $45 million deal and cornerback Terrence Newman to a six-year, $50.2 million deal on May 21.
The Cowboys also signed left tackle Flozell Adams to a six-year, $43.8 million in April, while quarterback Tony Romo signed a six-year, $67.5 million deal last season. -
