Hello to all you guys who have encountered some difficulty with the German language and the debilitating process of buying tickets to the World Cup 2006 in Germany. I jotted down a translation of the FAQ concerning the use of this site’s little helper. The clock is ticking, so don’t waste time!
Here is how it works:
A. Install the Firefox browser
B. Dowload the OrmusTool here http://tooor.de/showthread.php?p=117808&posted=1#post117808
C. Unzip the files
D. Start Firefox, 'Open file' and open OrmusTool.xpi
E. Install the extension
F. Shut the browser and restart
G. Copy Notify.wav to c:\ (note: exactly this location, not c:\programs or so). You can use any wav-file as long as it is named notify.wav and in c:\
Yellow Phase
a. Click on a yellow button and select number of tickets
b. Type in security code
c. You are now either in the waiting room or have some sort of error page.
d. Move the cursor to the center of the page and click the right mouse button.
e. Select an interval with which to refresh the page.
f. The tool now reloads the page at a given interval. Open as many tabs as you want or your computer can handle and do the same thing there.
g. If you get a login, you are notified by a short sound effect which you installed in step G.
h. Click on the right mouse button and de-activate the reloading because the tool might start to refresh when you enter your personal details and credit card number.
Resale Phase
1. Click on a highlighted 'R' and proceed to the resale package site.
2. If there is no resale package available right now, start the reload tool. It will ring a bell if a new package is available. Stop the reloading.
3. Type in the security code and start the tool again.
Note: It can take a few seconds and sometimes hours until you get a login. Maybe nothing at all, but most users have been successful with a little persistance. All the programme does is to push F5 for you and notify you once a login is established. This makes the ticket hunt less stressful, but it can also make you lazy.
Use several tabs in one Firefox window for reloading and use another Firefox window for browsing and looking for yellow tickets. I found an intervall of 1 second with 4-5 tabs open to be sufficient, but others use more tabs depending on their computer's capabilities and internet connection. You might want to write down which tab is looking for which match unless you want to be surprised which game hides behind the login. There is another Firefox extension that lets you re-name the tabs (Tab Mix Plus) if you don't have a pencil on your desk.
Note that if you have previously installed 'Reload Every...', you must un-install it before installing the OrmusTool. Make sure that all cookies are allowed.
If you are successful with this method, feel free to send your regards to ormus at ormus7577@gmx.de and maybe a modest donation of 1 Euro via Paypal. He wants to compensate his wife's suffering during the last few months of ticket fishing with a nice candlelight dinner at a posh restaurant. I don't think this is too much to ask.
Good luck!
